Premios Eisner 2013

Los Premios Eisner son el equivalente a los Oscar en el mundo del cómic. Los nominados son elegidos por cinco expertos y votados por miembros de la industria. Los ganadores se revelarán el viernes 19 de julio en la San Diego Comic-Con. Además este año se celebra el 25 Aniversario de los Premios que comenzaron en 1988, su nombre es un homenaje al creador de The Spirit.

Tres títulos encabezan la lista con cinco nominaciones.

La aclamada Building Stories de Chris Ware (publicada por Pantheon) está nominada a Mejor Nuevo Album Gráfico, Mejor Escritor/Artista, Mejor Colorista, Mejor Rotulista y Mejor Diseño de Publicación. Es un trabajo fuera de lo común que, a mi parecer, tiene más relación con la experimentación artística que con el cómic. Se trata de 14 láminas, cada una con un diseño particular (periódico, recortables, etc.) que cuenta la historia de una mujer que ha perdido una pierna de niña y su relación con sus vecinos en un bloque de edificios.

La obra Fatale de Ed Brubaker y Sean Phillips (publicada por Image) está nominada a Mejor Serie Regular, Mejor Nueva Serie, Mejor Guionista, Mejor Dibujante/Entintador y Mejor Portadista. Cuenta la historia de Josephine, estereotipo de mujer fatal que, además, es aparentemente inmortal. Descubrimos que ha sobrevivido desde la década de 1930 hasta nuestros días sin envejecer. La narración nos muestra la historia de la protagonista en diferentes épocas y su relación con lo sobrenatural.

Con las mismas nominaciones se encuentra la serie Hawkeye de Matt Fraction y David Aja (publicada por Marvel). La nueva serie de Ojo de Halcón, nos muestra episodios autoconclusivos, con acción desbordante y un ambiente barriobajero que supone una innovación en el desarrollo de los cómics de superhéroes. Es decir, el protagonista no se va a enfrentar a supervillanos sino a villanos más mundanos que visten chandal y proceden de países del este de Europa.

También, podemos destacar la inclusión de Adventure Time (BOOM!) con cuatro nominaciones (Mejor Nueva Serie, Mejor Publicación Infantil 8-12 años, Mejor Publicación Juvenil 13-17 años, Mejor Publicación Humorística) o Saga, la obra de Brian K. Vaughan y Fiona Staples (Mejor serie regular, Mejor serie nueva, Mejor guionista).
